#023 Ohio State - Dot-to-Dot Challenge

For Angela Walter's Dot-to-Dot Challenge, I made Grandpa a quilt for his 80th Birthday.  He is the biggest Ohio State fan.  And he loved it.  I'm sure it got used the next day when he watched the game.

#021 and #022 - Z is for Zoo baby quilts

Several people are having babies.  I saw this fabric and thought it would be fund to make a couple more baby sized quilts.  New techniques are the first time working with a panel and using flannel for the backing.  Also, I quilted elephants, lions and giraffes in the quilting.  A lot of tracing practice went into learning how to do these correctly.  I made two quilts with the Z is for Zoo fabric.

one of these quilts is available on Etsy.

#020 - Baby Quilt - August C+S

I've had this layered cake for awhile.  After I decided to put quilts up for sale, I figured I could do a fun baby quilt and post it online.  I wanted to try an all over concentric circle motif with my quilting that I saw from Angela Walters free motion quilting challenge.  So I pieced this quilt mainly to practice the quilting.  New techniques with this quilts are mainly the quilting motif.

#019 - Wolf Abstractions - First ETSY sale

I have to say that this pattern by Violet Craft was probably the most fun pattern I've ever made.  The large paper pieced pattern was pretty easy to make.  I love trying new techniques for each quilt I make.  This one was the first that I did in all solid fabrics and the first with a minky backing.  I've heard of people having issues with a minky backing when quilting, but I didn't have any problems.

I loved doing specific quilting for each section of the quilt.  The result is probably my favorite quilt I've ever made.  I nicknamed him Bane the Wolf.

So, I've started making too many quilts.  I figured the best thing to do was to try to sell on Etsy quilts that I don't have a recipient for.  After only being on Etsy 1 month, this quilt sold!  I'm happy that I had my first sale!  I hope the purchaser of the quilt loves it.

Eden Tulanova - #018

I love by English Paper Pieces Tula Nova!

Fandango Quilt - finish #017

I loved this pattern the first time I saw it and knew I had to make it.  I started it in January 2018 and its my first finish in 2018!

The rings around the star is paper pieced and the other pieces were from templates.  Although it looks complex, once the pieces were cut, it was pretty easy and quick to assemble.

The quilt pattern is only available in kit form with Tula Pink Slow and Steady.  I wasn't a huge fan of this line of fabric when I so it online, but in person its beautiful!

I went for a lot of quilting on this one.  The border is quilted with a motif I learned on Youtube from Angela Walters, the Paisley Feather.  I love the texture it created is amazing. The star points are quilted with alternating feathers and arched bands.  The continuous curve was used to quilt a flower in the negative space.

Log Cabin for Dad - finish #016

A couple weeks before Christmas, I thought it would be good to make my dad and his wife a quilt for Christmas.  I asked his wife what her favorite colors were and started there.  Here favorite colors were purple and sage.  I decided to do a simple log cabin quilt.

This quilt was a quick piece and with a simple all over quilting design, it was quick to quilt.
